Flat Stanley in Azerbaijan

Flat Stanley rode along with Les to Azerbaijan to teach a group of teachers. There were 3 airplane flights to get there. Flat Stanley was very tired once he arrived because the time was different than at home in Marysville. When it was 930 at night here in Marysville, it was already 8:30 the next day in Azerbaijan.
It was hard for Stanley to listen to the lessons each day because everyone was speaking the native language which was Azerbaijani. It sounded very different from English. Stanley got to see the Caspian Sea where there were lots of ships waiting to ship oil, gold and minerals to other parts of the world. Stanley learned that Azerbaijan is located near Russia, Iran, Armenia and Georgia.
The weather is similar to our weather here in Marysville. Notice the people wearing coats in the picture. They also drive cars that look like ours. Many people live in apartments that have many floors. A typical dinner is made of fish from the sea, vegetables, saffron rice plov (pilaf) and the national beverage is black tea.
Flat Stanley came home to rest and visit his friends in Marysville after a long flight.
